New Year Message 2010

2010

2010

Here we go two, three, four!

Yep, trying to sound upbeat as we head into a New Year!

There is no doubt we have all been put through the ringer in the last while. Okay everyone’s circumstances are different. But there is some truth in the expression: if we were all to throw our problems into a bartering or as-new exchange, we would probably grab ours back.

As we head into 2010, DO take heart. Whatever the Universe has served up during 2009 can still be counteracted with a positive attitude. Perhaps maintaining a positive attitude is the only point of control we have.

Remember, no one can take away your thoughts; so keep them as light and bright as possible. The one point in which we are totally free is in our response to what is kicking-off around us.

Despite these hard times, the Universe will deliver for us just when we need it most. We just have to keep the faith…

I could bore you with a tale or two but I won’t. Suffice to say, I know first hand that if we do not lose heart, say a prayer or two and hope for the best, we will not be forsaken.

The really good news is the planets are behaving much better as we head into 2010. Many of the major planets are moving forward and enjoying pleasant aspects.

The important shift of Saturn into Libra took place in November, and we will feel the benefits of this as we look for solutions in our personal circumstances.

Probably many of you felt the dramatic shift in the autumn as we came out of the Mercury retrograde phase, just before Saturn vacated Virgo.

Heading into 2010 Saturn in Libra will enable us to get a grip on things in practical ways. If you can keep your sense of humour all the better. We will certainly need our comedic hat on for the opening months of the year as we adjust to the impact of Lenihan’s budget (see celebrity predictions page of the supplement.)

Check out the pages in the supplement on the slower moving planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. These are interesting planets and their movements at this time give us hope that change will eventually come. We have been in a downward spiral for a while. But it is just a season of pressure which will ease as we retain our positivity, make the necessary adjustments and remember to have a laugh!

I have done the usual yearly forecast for all the Zodiac signs and it always helps to read the forecast of our nearest and dearest too. If we support and understand each other at this time, we will all come through the challenges in better shape. I suspect our values are changing and as things have become scaled down or restricted materially we perhaps have greater appreciation of each other

Perhaps such a recession enables us to put things into perspective and realise what is fundamentally important in life. It is not ‘things’ which are important it is people. We need to appreciate what we have. We are not living in a war zone after all and there is still plenty of money in circulation. I think we have been shocked into certain restrictions and responses which have further destabilised the economy and the national psyche.

Fear is not the most conducive and inspiring emotion; so I guess we should all do our level best to release it as a New Year resolution!

Of course the disaster of the flooding this year has been absolutely horrendous. This is one of the problems experienced during a Uranus in Pisces phase. I hope and pray that the people affected by this awful event are finding the support and care they need from their local communities.

I am not sure what the government can do really. We can’t blame the fact that the floods happened on Cowen. He may be many things; but he can not walk on water; nor can he part the waves. He is just an accountant who happens to run this country at the moment…

The powers that be are so restricted by trying to keep the economy afloat that there is just not the surplus to help people. It is a harsh reality which bites. I guess we can only help each other.

The good news is that by the summer we will begin to see property markets life and signs of productive change. Things will lift slowly but surely as Saturn progresses through Libra for its two year stay.

Things can only get better, and don’t worry they WILL

If you think on out National Fortunes as a clock, I would say we are currently at 6 o’ clock. By June will be at 7 o’ clock and by September maybe it will be quarter to 8!

We are on the way UP out of a cycle of depression and things will not get any worse. We just have to tread water with the 6 o’clock idea for the time being.

During the boom times it was midnight for quite some time; then of course escalated downwards to 3 and 4 o’clock very quickly!

I think we might as well be philosophical and look on this as a learning curve.
The damage is done and there is not much else we can do than keep our spirits up and live with it.

Actually that is not quite true. I do believe if we all decide to be positive and restore our more basic mutually supportive values of kindness and love, then maybe we will all be the better for it. Our indulgences will be purged and we will come out the other end as squeaky clean as is humanly possible!

At certain points in 2010, the more dynamic planets will pave the way for growth and change. Keep your eyes peeled and sense the moments when you need to act, and the times when you need to simply reflect.

During 2010, anything that no longer fits or works will have to go. Be open to new developments and reach your fullest potential. An experimental mood will serve you well and stretch your creativity in an impressive way.

We need to have ‘onwards and upwards’ as our national motto heading into 2010. Maybe a useful visualisation is for us all to will the clock to 7 and 8 much more quickly than I have just outlined. It can’t do any harm.

Let’s push the boat out to 9 o’clock!

Happy New Year…
